I grew up in New Brockton, Alabama. I was raised by two loving parents who always demanded that I gave my best efforts in all things. I was fortunate enough to attend New Brockton High School at a time when we were surrounded by caring and supportive teachers. I played football for the legendary and hall of fame football coach Levy Boutwell. After graduating high school I attended college and eventually graduated from Troy University and began my career as a teacher and coach. I was an assistant football coach at Enterprise High School and the Head Coach at Dauphin Jr. High (Enterprise) where I had the opportunity to coach over 1000 football players during my time there. I eventually moved on to become the Head Football Coach and Athletic Director at Geneva County High School in Hartford. In 2006, I accepted the high school principal position at Slocomb High School a position I held for four years before being promoted to a supervisors position at the Geneva Co. Board of Education. I held that position for five years and then requested to go back to a principalship which is my true calling. I made many wonderful friends in Geneva County and was very fortunate to have worked with many great educators during my 14 years in Geneva County. In 2016 I interviewed for and was offered my current position in Covington County and have enjoyed five wonderful years up to this point at Florala High School. I am married to my beautiful wife, Tracy, and we have three wonderful children. Tracy is employed with Coffee County Schools as the librarian at New Brockton Elementary School. My oldest son Sawyer graduated from the Baptist College of Florida with a degree in Pastoral Studies. After graduating from BCF he attended Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned his master degree. He is a Music Minister and Youth Minister at Smiths Station Baptist Church and in Smiths Station, Alabama with his wife Bethany. My middle child Grady is a graduate of Auburn University and he is a elementary school teacher in the Enterprise City School System. He lives in New Brockton and is an avid Auburn Tigers sports fan. My third child Scout my daughter is 13 years old and will be a 7th grader at New Brockton High School this school year. She is a JV cheerleader At New Brockton. More importantly she is also a straight A student. We are very proud of her. I also have two pets that are a big part of our family. Lola is a peekapoo whom I love very much and is always glad to see me everyday when I return home from work and our outside dog Porter who is on continual patrol guarding our house. I feel very fortunate to be part of the community of Florala. We have the best students and parents in the world right here in our little part of the world.
